Scam call reported by Bob

Definitely a scam. Had a 'Peter Williams' (Indian accent) from Telstra (our provider) telling my mum that our PC was full of bugs and viruses and she needed to download a program (TeamViewer) to fix it. Unbeknown to her that it was 100% shonky. She proceeded and he needed a password that had popped up on the download screen and upon giving it to him he yelled at her saying it was the wrong password. At this point I had come home from work not knowing what had happened. And when i took over the phone and pulled him up on it being a scam he yelled at me and gave me this phone number to prove that he is from Telstra. Unbelievable that this is still happening in 2015.

I think its a scam. they said they were from telstra. my internet ip address would be blocked and at first his name was john williams then it was james williams then he wasn't sure really so obviously a total scam...

I had a call from this number, he willingly gave me his number for a return call - I'm not even with Telstra!

This seems to be a scam. He spent ages on the phone wanting access to our computer insisting that there was an urgent problem with our i.p address. When I queried a person called Peter he said we are not authorised to try to access peoples computers yet earlier in the day they got my wife to give access to our computer. BE AWARE. When I rang the phone number back it went to an answering machine. DEFINATELY NOT TELSTRA!!!!
