Got a call from 0280067686 ...... The third such call in as many days!! I demanded to speak to a team leader / supervisor as we are fiercely protective of our home number (it's silent and we never give it out!!) Spoke to a lady with an accent .... she said her name was Gina DeSousa and that she was calling from the "Accident and Injury Insurance Agency". I demanded to know how they got my phone number .... she stated that NRMA gave it to them. I asked who they worked for and she stated "We work for Lawyers, Sydney Claims Lawyers". I abruptly told Gina to never call my number again and to remove my number from their records. Gina stated "you do not own that number and I will call it every day if I want" After the call I contacted NRMA to report the issue .... they assured me that they had not given out my contact information .... to be sure I have my silent home number removed from their data base. I then called Telstra .... lodged a complaint and had 02 80067686 blocked I would recommend that EVERYONE DOES THIS!!!

Calls numerous times asking for the person who has been in the accident. When asked which accident are they referring to, they keep pushing to get information. Scam!

Scammers calling from 0280067686 Just report them! They wanted to pay "someone in this household" (couldn't tell me who!) $5,000 for a car accident that happened in the "last couple of years" (couldn't give me an exact date!) Also couldn't give me the car rego or make if the car. I told them to just make the cheque out to cash and I'll come and pick it up from them with my Lawyer. ...the hung up

OH my god, these people have rang so many times, each time I have played games with them....so much today that he even rang me back and spent half an hour on the line to try and convince me he is legitimate and working for lawyers/solicitors from Sydney/Newcastle/Brisbane and Melbourne......he rang me back from an oversea's number and said it was voip phones, but he was in Newcastle calling me. He even sent me an email to try and prove he was not lying....the addresses given are all Law firms etc but nothing to do with these SCAMMERS....really do they think aussies are that stupid. Sadly though they must be getting someone as why do they keep trying........

Accident Help Line. Michael said he got my number from Motor Authority. Someone at my phone number had had an accident in the last two years and was due to compensation. Didn't know the name of the person involved in the accident, where it happened or even when. Smelt a rat. Asked for their phone number. Was told it was 0280067678 They then put the supervisor (Jennifer) on the phone. She told me the same story. Asked her for the name of the company who gave out our phone number. She said it was the Motor Authority 02 80067686. Phoned that number while I had them on another phone. Steve answered and seemed to know exactly what I was calling for before I told him. Strange That. I told him I would be reporting the call. They both hung up at the same time.

Was contacted by person with Indian (or similar) contact, asking about an accident that our vehicle was involved with ... suspected scam call straight away, they gave this number as the phone back number and it goes to an answering machine.

Some grub purporting to call from "Accident Helpline" about an accident somebody from this number had last year. Got half smart. Sounds like an offshore call centre being routed through an Aussie number to bypass the Do Not Call set-up.

Called out of the blue and demanded to know if I or any member of my family had an accident in the last 12 months. Said his name was "Michael" but would not give a last name and did not have any of my details except for my landline. On questioning him he reluctantly said he was from an accident insurance company in Newcastle and the phone number was (02) 8006 7686. He had an Indian accent and was hard to understand. I thought he was calling from India. He insisted on asking the same question over and over again and I insisted on not answering saying he did not have the authority to ask such a question. He eventually slammed the phone in my ear.

Call from this number claiming to be from National accident helpline.. wanting to speak to the person who "had the accident in the last 3 years"....Gave a name "Brendan" but couldnt give surname. I had a laugh and said he sounded ridiculous - to which he replied that I sounded ridiculous and hung up.

I just had a call from 'Jason' asking to speak to the person who had the accident in the last 12 months. I said 'oh that was me', to which he said 'but you were not at fault'. I said 'oh yes I was' and he asked was anyone hurt in the accident. I said 'Yes, 50 people'. He said 'Well those 50 people are entitled to compensation from your insurance company'. I said 'but I don't have insurance, and anyway they all died'. He said 'am I speaking to a ghost?' I said 'You most surely are!' I laughed and wished him well finding someone else to scam today.
