It is a call from ACM. I have answered their calls before. I also had a text from them a good while ago. They had my first name correct but my last name was way wrong. The first letter in my last name was correct. From what I have looked up about ACM & found out is sus to say the least. They have had had a good few court appearances re less than Legal practiced. They do tend to make outlandish threats & tell you so very convincingly. Stand your ground, agree to absolutely nothing & there is nothing they can do. No matter how intimidating they come accross. The more intimidating & over the top the threat to do whatever they are putting forth, the more likely it is to be a made up scenario. Remember, give NO information. Agree to NOTHING. And most of all, NEVER ADMIT THAT YOU OWE ANYTHING. Do not agree to start making payments. Once a debt you may have has passed the 5yr mark (I think now, use to be 7yrs) you are not obligated to pay this. If you agree that you owe this money, the 5yr timer starts again. It may also be a debt you have already paid, this can definitely happen. This is where it pays to have great records. I don’t & never have but my father when I was in my 20’s had kept a file of mine & remembered the debt they were speaking of. Do he just faxed the copy of the paid debt & it was all over. There are a few great people out there on the Internet who do offer help & advice on these exact situations. It doesn’t matter at what age we are until you know the type of information I am speaking of it can feel very intimidating when someone calls you up demanding that you owe & you have to pay immediately. There is NO reason to feel intimidated by these unethical tactics.. Do some research into this stuff. Good luck & stand strong!!
