Called and asked for me by name, I asked who they were but they said they couldn't say due to privacy reasons. I said the same thing back, they kept asking if it was me they were speaking to - sorry, privacy reasons prohibit me from answering that.

I am sure they are debt collectors who are trying to retrieve money from my debt-riddled father. They would not go into details of why they were calling, but they mentioned his name and asked if I could get him to call them back.

Seems to be some call centre, I can see more similar numbers (all the same range - 02802494xx, just last 2 or 3 digits different) reported here already - mostly as Credit Corp Financial Services, a debt collection service provider. No idea who is behind it, they left no message, no VM. I really don't answer unknown numbers, tried to dig some info about this number first on internet, but no luck so far. People did someone answer it? I have been using the ShouldIAnswer mobile application from these pages, works fine, can stop such calls and also a range of numbers (very usefull for call centres). No problems.
