Was a Westpac checkup call on my home loan. The number showed as Westpac on my phone. Initially verified myself before thinking it could be a scam but I fired some verification questions back and it all checked out. Is a genuine call. (and surprisingly helpful too!)

Recently settled on a new loan. I hung up and called westpac seperately as i dont trust incoming calls. Westpac advised me it was a standard 45 day check up call from the loans team to make sure i am happy with everything. 100% Genuine number :)

Bank's collection agency chasing a missed payment (Financial services) reported by


This is a debt collection agency. I had a direct debit declined and missed a payment, then forgot to fix it. I didn't answer it but after I called Westpac (who own St George) to fix up the payment, the calls stopped.

I wouldn't trust this call. Although, it does sound believable and they are Australian's, it is very unlikely that Westpac would be calling me in the first place. If it is so important, Westpac would send an email. Scam! Didn't bother answering the call and listened to the voicemail. Will not be calling back and will be reporting the number. Do NOT answer this phone number.

Called me twice, leaving voicemail and saying they were from WBC. (Unsolicited call) reported by


Called me twice and left message saying they were from Westpac, where I have an account. Asked me to call back to Westpac's own phone number - which made me think it was genuine but this could have been a double bluff? I did call Westpac general account enquiry line, but they said they had no record of having called me and that the call could be a scam. There was no issue with my accounts on record. So unclear whether genuine or not, but probably not, and probably some kind of scam.

Called and left a message claiming to be Westpac - it was an aussie bloke which had me thinking it may be real? Called Westpac direct and they said there's no record of them calling me and everything on my account is ok. I think it could be a scammer, however I am not 100% sure as Westpac (the real one) said that someone may have called but not left notes on their system.

Claimed to be westpac talking about existing home loan package with them trying to glean personal information from you before even telling you what the call is about. Heclaimed to be an SA call centre but the number was a Sydney number. I asked what it was about and he said that he wanted to make sure I was aware of package details and if I was using all the package benefits. Told him not interested. I suspect this could be a scam but not sure. I wouldn't provide any personal details to this number.

Showed up as suspected fraud, Said I’d recently settled a home loan through broker = correct What makes me think it is a scam is he said “it could have been a refinance”.....it was....but hasn’t settled at time of writing. I did a fast refi and settlement officially if 8.1.2021 (today’s 7.1.2021) He also confirmed by year of birth and asked me to confirm month and day.....99% sure it’s a scam
