Be warey

It's all part of profiling someone. If you answer the phone with your name, that's one more aspect of you that they now know. You might need to answer the phone with your name due to the nature of your business, but my rule is - if it's a number I don't know, or private - don't answer with your name.

Got an incoming call from this number the other day but nothing else until this evening. A man with what sounded like a Philipino? accent asked if he had the correct street address, correct surname, and mentioned something about a charity survey. After politely telling him the surname did not line up with the address, and that we were not interested in what we believe may be a scam he promptly hung up!

This number calls many times a day and night wait till you answer then hangs up. I have reported this call to the police as it has become harassing.

This happens to me also. Quite annoying.

Block the number

You can always block numbers from your phone. If you have an iphone, its very simple. If it's a landline phone, get your provider to block the number if you don't know how to do it.
