12/05/2016 Got a call from this number from an officer Michelle jones stating she was from the commonwealth director of public procecussion australian tax office telling me I have been audited for tax evasion and I owe $5000 and the call was being recorded and that if I hung up from the call they would start legal proceedings against me. She also asked if I was on Centrelink and she wanted me to pay it to an online bank transfer account. I called ATO and this is a SCAM

They ring your number so many times, my Mother got a call from them , she has caller ID and got like a computer thing talking to her saying she was being sued for fraud . I called the number , did not say anything to find out what i would get on the other end, i had a Indian lady saying hi you have reached such and such taxation .. i then hung up.

Same as everyone else. I called the ATO & reported it, if they call back I will get a trap on my phone so that Telstra can call in police. It's a pain but we need to be proactive to stop these criminals.

Sick of it

I arrived home and had 2 missed calls from this number and it had left a message on my phone answering machine saying their is a law suit against me for tax evasion !

Scam call. Call me at 5:30am pretending ATO with a warning that I have to call back before legal action is taken on unpaid tax. SCAM...SCAM.. Don't call back.

Kept receiving calls saying they were the ATO, passed on a final warning before any legal action if I payed $1000 dollars. Keep in mind my debt started from $6000 then to 3000 and if I payed the $1000 all debts would be cleared..according to them

Block it. Pure scam, "This call is from the Australian Taxation Office..." or similar. No, it isn't. People be aware, can be a robocaller or a live person behind it, this kind of scam mostly originates from USA, where this type of scam (someone calling on behalf of IRS - Internal Revenue Service, similar to ATO - Australian Taxation Office, https://www.ato.gov.au/) is very common. Block it, report it - police department is already checking this activity. Also, all ATO numbers begin with 13. For Telco complaints, check the Telecommunications Industry Ombudsman pages here : http://www.tio.com.au/ - you can also fill your complaint there.

So it defiantly isn't the ATO. They left a message on my phone stating the ato is taking legal action against me and this is my final warning to contact them!
