I had not requested a card, nor do I have dealings with Citibank. I refused to give information and disconnected the call. I had to insist that they identify themselves and the reason for the call. Suspicious.

This is a legitimate call from Citibank who organises financial services on behalf of Coles Credit Card, NAB credit cards etc. Citibank manage many various products like loans, balance transfers and credit cards. They are trying to offer you deals if they call you, its not scammers. However, they probably do get a commission if they win your business on behalf of the financial organisation you are with (eg nab bank)

I want to organise a balance transfer on my coles credit card the chat person said they would get someone to call and I think this was it. though she wouldn't give the actual name of the company. Not an Australian accent and difficult to hear what she was saying. Refused to give my card number so took a while to work out why she called me.

caller advised they were from NAB but were calling about the activation of a BOQ credit card recently. Hung up on my when I refused to provide postcode.

Call dropped out when on phone to bank. They called me back. It was a legit call - she was the same person who I had spoken to 10 minutes previously when I called the bank.

Caller with Phlipino accent claimed to be from citibank called me and asked for secuirty details. I declined and they asked me to call back on a 1300 number, however the line was very poor and I could not hear the number properly.
