they've called me today, they refer to me as someone else's know who I've been contacted by scammers before, so they're either buying illegal information or they're ****.. i can confirm these guys are scammers block the number if you get this call, they didn't have an Indian accent but don't be fooled i claimed it wasn't a scam and that a scam works on taking money, but an information grab can still be used for a scam later on

You've probably been phished, like me. I was using a trusted app on my phone (global food vendor who regularly offers prizes and specials) and I have legitimately claimed small prizes via this app before. But this time I typed my details into a very legit-looking fake page that appeared over the top of the trusted app. It's called "phishing". Since then, I get calls from this number everyday, which I have been ignoring but will now block. I've also been getting some new junk mail that I've needed to unsubscribe from. So these people do seem to be connected to signing up for a comp or claiming a prize. You may have done this without realizing, since the fake pages are so convincing. Or somebody you know may have signed you up for something (maliciously or with good intentions). However you got here, DON'T ANSWER THE CALL. Answering just adds you to a new list. Block this number if you can, make sure you have some kind of security software installed on your mobiles (plenty of free stuff out there) and unsubscribe from/block any new unwanted emails. Done!

Called id from Sydney. Woman caller with an english accent telling me i entered a competition a while back in one of their websites and says that's where she got my info. Said i was selected to enter a survey with a chance to win 500 cash. Verified my name and wanted my address saying for correspondence or to send the cheque to. I politely refused and said that that website or competition didnt ring any bells and that im not comfortable disclosing my info. She was quite persistent she verified my post code, listed the suburbs and asked which of the suburbs in that code am i in. I politely declined 3x, then the call went silent and dropped.

Had the same person contact me. Apparently wanting Janet and when I told her a few minutes later that I wasn’t actually Janet, she got narky that I should’ve told her that at the start ???? just delaying a scammer for a few more minutes… ????

A woman with a broad northern English accentcalled my mobile with a caller i.d saying the call had originated from "Sydney. N.S.W". Very slick on her delivery, obviously a well honed and tehearawd written scam script, but it was her b.s afability that is this predator in another level. My phone, all accounts were hacked 2 uears ago. Through good ole FB! Id get 5-10 phishing texts a day and the same in attempted calls that you dont recognise (or do) and just ignore and block. Id have hundreds of numbers, emails blocked...
