Scam Motor Accident (Scam call) reported by


Called me by name and asked about my recent motor vehicle accident. I asked who he was calling from and he dodged the question. I asked again and he said SWIFT MANANAGMENT. He then asked my about the accident I had had when a third party ran into my car. I asked him for company details to call back and he said I had the number details. I told him to remove my number from their call list as it was clearly a scam and my number is on the do not call register. Thick Irish accent, called me "love" about twenty times!

Car Collision Scam (Scam call) reported by


A person with a thick UK accent called me and said that he was from a company called Swift Management and was calling about an accident that my car had been in. Unfortunately my car actually had recently been in a car accident but the only phone number I'd give to the other people in the accident was my home phone number and this call was on my mobile number so luckily that made me immediately suspicious. I asked how he'd gotten my number and he said "Oh it just gets past down to me in the scheme of things." So I asked what he wanted and he asked if my car had been repaired. I said no it hadn't and what did he want. He said that he'd been instructed to call me. But I was busy and had no time for nonsense so I hung up. Have found out after a quick Google search of the number that it is a scam and that people have been asked to pay money to avoid going to court over their car accidents. I'll be on more guard in future because apparently these scammers do the same thing through different numbers too.

Spoke to a male with a Merseyside (UK) accent who asked me about a road accident I'd had recently. I asked him to give me the details of the accident and what company he was calling on behalf of. He refused to go into any detail about either until I mentioned the telecommunications ombudsman. Only then did he claim he was calling on behalf of the Accident Advice Beareau and then got abusive once I told him I'd googled the number whilst speaking to him and identified this as a scam call. He then hung up swearing as he went. Don't even give this scum the courtesy of answering the call.
