In my case the young man called on behalf of the Smith Family (well known charity). Looking at other comments, this call center might cater to many charities, or they are a scam... I have explained, that I never give donations over the phone, or do business with cold callers, because I have no way of verifying their identity. He has promised to take me of the list - we'll see. I recently filled in a form for a competition to win an IKEA voucher, which had a bunch of 'would you like to hear from..." questions attached to it. Apparently, my details have been passed on, even though I have taken care to express my disinterest for all options given.

In the past two weeks they have called me five times. I've called back twice and the machine says something like they're from 'green waste'? And said they're calling on behalf of a charity. Really annoying

I received 2 calls one from 02 8315 1783 and one from 061283151783 (same number but with area code). I called back the 02 number and it said that I was contacted by ‘wayson, one of Australia’s charities’? Which doesn’t sound legitimate. I called the 06 number and it said it wasn’t connected

I had a missed call from this Sydney number on my mobile but no message left. Also similar numbers called me recently, probably the same marketing company or call centre, all the same range - 02831517xx. I don't wanna call back since I do not know the number - it could be just a robocaller testing if my number is responding, don't want to let them know my line is active... People please did someone answer it? Who is behind this number? Similar numbers are reported as call centre working for non-profit orgs like Green Peace. I have been using the ShouldIAnswer mobile application from these pages, works fine, can stop such calls and also a range of numbers (wery usefull for call centres). No problems.
