This scam artist has been ringing me over the past two weeks. Persistent *! I have been deleting his calls as suspected it was a scam and he certainly does not sound Australian! Goes by the name of Jason Or. Finally, I have put the phone number and found this page and other comments about these phone calls have been a great relief! Will inform the ATO shortly.

Actual live human being speaking, with foreign (Indian/Paki accent) claiming tax evasion charges, and claiming a local policeman from my local police service to be coming to my door with my arrest warrant. Total scam. Do ot fall for this "urgent to ring them back" crap.

Definitely an ATO scammer... caller was a recorded msg who identified himself as Jason acting on behalf of of the ATO... claimed there was a lawsuit against me for defamation and the usual threat of local police having a warrant for my arrest. This scam is laughable... report given to the ATO scam team.

Definitely a SCAM, I rang the number and you can hear a busy call centre in the background. They asked for my tax file number and when I asked what for they hung up.

a voice claims that a lawsuit has been filed against you for a serious tax evasion offence and that a police officer will visit to hand you a warrant for your arrest unless you call this number which i assume is either to take your personal details or credit card details or both in an attempt to scam a large sum of money
