Indian caller claiming to be NBN. He had called before on 7 January offering better deal than Telstra ( wasn’t better deal) on that call asked for my Drivers Licence or Medicare No. provided fake Medicare No. today 1 month later he called again on Private No. and when I asked for proof of his identity he quoted back the fake Medicare No. I had provided a month earlier. I said I wanted to check veracity of call so he gave me the 134510 that he gave me in January and the same Reference No too!!! Not very bright but very evil.

This company contacted my mum in the country (In late September/October), and she was told they had a better offer than her current provider (TELSTRA) she asked if they would send her the details so she could get me to look at the paperwork. This was not done, they illegally "ported" her service from TELSTRA to SOLO NETWORK without permission, no contract, NOTHING. They started sending her bills (at double the cost of what TELSTRA is charging) and then she also received a bill from TELSTRA for terminating her contract with them early. She spoke to TELSTRA and they dropped their termination fee and reconnected her to TELSTRA. SOLO NETWORK is still sending her bills which are escalating in price, for a service that is already being paid for through TELSTRA. How can they (SOLO NETWORK) charge her for a service that is being provided by another company. I spoke to someone from customer service yesterday, and they insist that she owes them something, they were going to call me back within the hour yesterday, which has not happened. I have lodged a complaint with TIO, meanwhile they are still sending bills and letters of demand. This is an extremely bad company, using trickery and bullying tactics whilst preying on elderly, less savvy people. STAY AWAY FROM THEM.

Solo Network brought to task (Telemarketer) reported by


With assistance from our local newspaper it was found that 'Solo Network' had registered with the Telecommunication Industry Ombudsman in mid-November. This allowed us to lodge a complaint to the TI0 on 18th December 2019. Within a few hours we had a contrite response from the manager of customer complaints telling us to ignore the invoices and if any more arrived (they are sent middle of the month) ignore them, and no need to complain to the TIO. He claimed the invoices were just a systems error, sent by mistake. Our last invoice from them (28th Nov.)amounted to $5704.81 including $518.62 GST. There was no apology for the disconnection of our Telstra landline nor the threat of another disconnection from 25th December if not paid. Their tactics are intimidating and worrisome causing much angst. Our local newspaper has written an article to expose this ruthless organization, to be published Friday 20th December as a warning to others. At no stage did we agree to a contract with this shifty mob.

Further to my entry about 'Solo Network' app. 1 month ago, we have now received three invoices in the mail for $43.67 (allegedly rental, despite no contract). The 4th invoice issued on 11th November was a Disconnetion Notice for 25th December unless payment of $5186.19 was received, and the dire consequences of defaulting etc. Have contacted Telecommunications Onbudsman, who is unable to do anything because they are not registered. Our solicitor is sending a letter to 'Solo Network' about their outrageous demands & tactics.

In July male caller from 'Solo Network,'offered cheaper telephone plan. Asked them to send details by post and Email which never arrived. Their phone no 02 8378 7903 recording said your call is important, music played, then female voice said goodbye. Some time later our Telstra line was disconnected without our consent. Received an account from 'Solo Network' for the line rental,($40 plus dollars) and follow up phone call as to why it hadn't been paid. Our reply was that we had not entered a contract with them and had no intention of paying. Last call from them claimed it was from their legal department and suggesting they would send the plan details. They were told not to bother as they were not a legitimate telecommunications provider. There were three different callers, Jack, Leigh & Max. It is a complete scam, do not engage with them.

We have also had same experience with this lot. Do not talk to them, they were unethical, never sent anything in the mail then I got a bill months later that turned out to be dearer than my usual telephone bill. They threatened to disconnect my line and send the disconnection fee.mi have spoken with Jack and Max and A David. My next port of call, if this keeps up is the telecommunications Ombudsman. They do exist but very unethical practices I have found in my dealings with them.

I answered a call from this number and the Guy I spoke to told me he was from the fraud dept of VISA and that my card had been used suspiciously online to buy $299 worth of software . He couldn't tell me the bank I have VISA cards with or any details about the transaction. He wanted details about the card like expiry date and such. SCAM!!!!

same as above,offers cheap rates like a Telemarketer but the nature of the caller appeared more like a scam. Informed them my number was blocked to Telemarketers so the call was illegal,In the end I hung up.Our land line is now flooded with scam calls,to the extent it is not worth having one.

Enough

I'm now up to 10 calls from this number. They normally hang up when answered. This time I kept them talking. He was very pushy, trying to get me to change to a 60% off home phone/NBN plan. He said he wasn't a scammer when I asked if this plan would stop scam calls. Yeah right!
