Company called Creative Deals - comparison company (Telemarketer) reported by


The lady I spoke to knew my name without me giving that information. She said she was with Creative Deals. I've never heard of them before. I tried to google them, got nothing. Told her and she directed me to http://www.creativedeals.com.au which is a real website not marked as harmful by my system. HOWEVER, nowhere on the site is the company's ABN listed (a legal requirement for any business operating within Australia) and it is a very basic, empty website (practically just a contact form and a short simplistic privacy policy). Best I could find is that it is apparently based in India. She wanted to offer me an electricity comparison and asked for my NMI (national meter identifier). Kept saying she could compare offers and the highest in my area is 27%, but also said she couldn't compare without the NMI - very insistent on getting that number. I've never been asked for that by any other electricity cold calls, so I refused. Aside from not knowing what she could do with that number, the way she was talking made it sound like by giving her enough info she'd act without my consent, which I am so not down for. Suspicious as all heck. You want to compare prices for a better deal, do the legwork yourself. Now, to try to figure out where this random "company" got my contact details from... I've clearly got a leak somewhere.
