message was left on my answering machine. Male voice, said he was from ATO tax evasion, and I should return his call asap otherwise a warrant for my arrest will be issued. Sounds like a con artist.

They called yesterday and it was a really bad line and I couldn't understand what he was saying. I received another call today (possible Phillipino accent) and said he was from the ATO tax evasion both times he left a message on my answering machine. He said that we need to call this number before the police come to arrest me. Also we can choose a courthouse of our territory. Obviously some people have too much time on their hands.

ATO tax evasion call from Joshua who left a message. Now have a warrant out for (blank)'s arrest. Didnt address his call to anyone. Little f*kwits. I hate these people. They took $$$$ off my dear old Granny. Need to be stopped!!

My husband got a call from them tonight. Said the same as everyone else. That the sheriff had been 3 times to our house. Funny thing is I was home on one of the days and the other was last week when I was on annual leave. The strange thing is and it could be a coincidence but yesterday there was an Indian guy on the corner opposite my house taking photos when I walked in the door. He disappeared when my neighbor stood there and watched him. I don't even know where he disappeared to but my dog was going mental. Then we get a phone call today. Could be a coincidence but something to watch out for

Got a call today from Joshua O'Connor who has a very foreign accent (not Irish). He is warning me I have evaded tax and the local police dept will come and see me and I should call back. For fun I rang back at 6.10 pm and there was no answer. Missed my fun for the day. The message was left before 9.00 am I think that is a bit early for a scam call.

I have now made contact. They wanted me to identify myself. His name was John Cooper. I refused to because they rang me and knew my details. They confirmed my name and address. I asked for proof that they were from the ATO and all of a sudden he couldn't hear me. I suggested it was the bad Indian phone lines and the high noise of the call center behind him. He told me to stop wasting his time.

I had a call from these guys too today. The dumb *s left their real number. So today I've blocked my number and bombarded them with over 100 calls. They have had great conversations with John Whatshisname, Luke Skywalker and Batman! They hate it! But oh how I love it when the tables are turned and its them getting spammed with calls.

Absolute creeps.. The same story to us, yet my daughter got the message.. Major melt down for her.. I blocked another number and rang them.. Boy o boy he was quite upset and hung up stammering!!!!

Yep I had a phone call today too, exactly what Peter said. Lowlife scammers an automated message from Jason?O'Conner, seems the cops are onto me regarding tax evasion (I wish). Asking I call this number 0285996101 before my local police come to see me :) I only hope the elderly don't get caught up in this :(

Seems to be some call center, I can see more similar numbers (all the same range - 0285996xxx, just last 2 or 3 digits different) reported here already. No idea who is behind it, they left no message, no VM. I really don't answer unknown numbers, tried to dig some info about this number first on internet, but no luck so far. People did someone answer it?

I had the similar experience and when I called back there was a lot of noise in background as though its a working office but they couldnot supply any information on the issue..!
