Followed up with vague email (Debt collector) reported by Redacted

I was called by a Private number, which I didn't answer. I then got the below email: Hi <redacted>, We are unable to reach you over the phone. Kindly do not ignore and give this matter your immediate attention. Please contact our office urgently on 02 8599 7920 or reply via e-mail regarding an important matter of yours that has reached our office for immediate resolution or chat with our staff on live chat collexa.com.au. False Debt collection (Scam call) reported by Never been with Origin

Called a family member first looking for me. Then called me. They wouldn't give me their company name, only the name of a person to contact. They claimed it was debt collection for Origin from 14 years ago who I have never ever been signed with let alone have a debt with. Even if I had been with Origin and had an oustanding debt, it's well past the time allowance for them to legally try and collect anything anyway which any "reputable" collection agency would already know. My number and family members number are also private numbers so who knows what dodgy methods they used to get them. All up, illegal methods of contact chasing a non existent debt and wouldn't even give their company name. Block and report.

they are saying they are a power company and i owe $900 they will wipe $400 if I pay $500 now, they also contact you through family members. some people haven't even lived at the address they say the bill is from. the bill was also from 2015 so it's nearly 7 years old. they demand payment or they will elevate the collection process.

They won't introduce themselves properly but straight onto questions about your identity .. I asked who are they and what they do the girl says something quickly and then got back to the questions about your identity again. All I heard was they are something to do with financial services so I said I got no interest .. she then changed the tone as if I have a serious involvement in this matter .. I just hang up and block the number. A total scammer to me. How get we get the police to arrest these criminals ?
