was called by this scammer today. He said he was from RTA about a crash I had last year. I asked him to repeat his organisations name, he said it was Road Traffic Accidents Management. I kept asking for his details (company address, his last name, if he was a law firm called RTA management) and he got annoyed I wasn't giving him details about myself. I then told him I would report his scam call. He gave a last name then hung up.

"Mary" says she's from roads and traffic and that I have had an accident this year and knew my name address and of course phone number.

Caller pretended to be from NSW RTA and said I was in a car accident & owed compensation money. Then tried to get all my personal information and details. It's a scam. Hang. Up!

told me they were from "claims department" and that they had $6000 for me, told me I had an accident in my car months ago, gave car details, year model but got colour wrong, I have that car on gumtree as damaged but only bought recently (already damaged)

Seems to be some Sydney call center, I can see more similar numbers (all the same range - 288800xxx, just last 2 or 3 digits different) reported here already - mostly with fake ATO calls so be aware. No idea who is behind it, they left no message, no VM. I really don't answer unknown numbers, tried to dig some info about this number first on internet, but no luck so far. People did someone answer it?
