I received several scam calls from this number claiming to be calling from Amazon. They questioned me if I had ordered some shoes from them and when I replied no, the told me they needed my credit card details to cancel the order. They sent me the OTP code and knew about a previous purchase I had made through Amazon. They repeatedly demanded my credit card details including the expiry and security numbers. When I refused to give them the number, and asked them what number they had for the alleged order, they became rude and aggressive, telling me they were going to charge me for things I hadn’t ordered since I was being uncooperative. I hung up the call, and they continued to call back 3 more times

I feel for those who may fall for this scam as he was pretty convincing. I knew he was lying so took pleasure in frustrating him until he asked ME to hang up. His scam was that someone tried to buy a $1500 Apple laptop in Germany and that he was from Amazon Australia customer service. He had the OTP send me the verification code 3 times (it looked fake) and there was zero chance he was legit. He could not tell me anything about my account.

They left a message and it sounded like a couple having an argument. I think the idea might be they try to get people to call them back maybe and then probably pretend to be in a crisis, get emotions whipped up and take advantage of poor critical thinking that way? Not sure. Very weird. Both had Indian accents.

Said they were calling from Amazon about suspicious activity on my account and that there was a $1500 charge pending that they could cancel if I gave them the security code which should be used to reset password. Hung Up on them and called Amazon they confirmed there were no pending charges and it was a scam.

Scammer... prior to the call they managed to hack my Amazon account & baited me into conversation because they knew my name, home address etc because it was all available under account details the website. They will try and circumvent 2-factor authentication by getting you to read the 6 digit number sent to your mobile (from the actual Amazon). They'll also ask for the numbers they're missing on your credit card, which is where they lost me.

Call from someone from 'Amazon' re a $1500 laptop. Sent me a one time code via text to verify myself but one time code acutally appeared in recent text messages I had actually received from amazon a day ago (had actually placed an order a day ago and got one time pin).... I asked if I could see the order on my account rather than giving him the code and he hung up. I'm normally good with scam calls but this one stumped me with the one time text coming from the actual Amazon number.

I asked him where he was and he said Sydney. Lots of background chatter. I told him a couple of times I didn't have an Amazon account. He perservered for a while telling me I had ordered something, and had I shared my bank account details. I strung him out a bit more, then he just hung up.

Claimed they were from Paypal saying I sent $1000 to someone in Ireland. Asked if I made the payment, said no. He needed my email address, didn't give him it. Asked him to verify the name on the account, which he got but at first refused to give me it. Told him I would have gotten an email if I sent money and text, told him to make sure the person I've requested money from pays it then hung up.
