The number is a dialer used for legitimate charity fundraising. This particular number is used by Fred Hollows, Guide Dogs for the Blind, the RSPCA, and Amnesty International among others. I used to work for one of these organisations. If you are being hung up on that is most likely because there is a note in the system that you are either someone who abuses charities over the phone, or you continually block a call meant for your spouse, not you, pretending that person doesn't exist or is always "in the shower" etc. THE BEST THING YOU CAN DO if you do not want to receive the calls, is to always take the call then say politely "I am not interested, can you please take me off the list". The agent will then be happy to hit F5+NEVERCALL and you will be removed from the system. This is totally at the fundraisers discretion, so be polite and don't be abusive. Charities are exempt from the DNCR, are allowed to call private numbers, unlisted numbers, and any other kind of number. Your Government allows this and Telstra and big data companies provide your number, for a fee of course.
