Received unusual text (SMS) reported by Lou
I received a text from 0437913547 - saying I'd been issued a $3,000 travel shopping spree. Had to call before 3pm that day. I didn't call the number which was 90524985, as it looked suspicious. I didn't go into any competitions to win this. But just needed to read the comment by Wilbur to know he called and they asked for his credit card number.

Received unsolicited text saying I have been issued with a $3000 travel shopping spree. This is widely reported as being a scam where you are asked to give your credit card number to accept the money. The scammer then uses your credit card for their own purchases, leaving you with a credit card liability.

I checked a message left after a missed call. It sounded like a recording and offered a free seven day tour of a luxury resort. All I had to do was call the number to find out.
