A guy has a surname Williams with an India accent. He said he is from NBN Co and our internet currently has problems. I said to him there is there is an IT department within the company and they have not found any internet issue. So please do not call again and delete our number from your list.

They told u they want u to upgrade ur internet by using something look like a professional operation. But what u know, I happen to be an IT professional. So first of all, any operator offer u a free upgrade of the internet, when u say ok, they can do that by themselves. If they want u to do something on ur own device, its not gona work, u cannot just upgrade ur internet on your phone or laptop. Second, u need to think which phone they call, if u give ur phone number or ur husband or wife phone number, they cannot just call another number and told u to upgrade the internet. Thrid, u can ask which company they belong, if they cannot say it they are fake. And lastly, this call ask u to press WIN+R, thats a cmd hotkey. If u dont know what it is, just remember its basically an administrator mode of your personal computer, if u do as they told u. They can reset ur computer, storeage and so on. They can turn your computer into garbage by telling u to put some code in it. Also, no upgrade is necessary, even when company want to connect optical in ur area, u dont have to upgrade. So, if u tell them u dont want to upgrade, and they still wont let u go, just hang up. They cannot do anything even if they are not scam call

They told me they were from NBN and were going to upgrade my connection for free as it had been running slow. They handed me onto another technician that got me to download an app to my computer - they then tried to access my computer remotely but I was onto them at that point!! BEWARE NEVER GIVE ACCESS TO YOUR COMPUTER. They had a very convincing script and even when I asked them to prove they were from NBN they said we haven’t asked you for any personal details - that was it
