Fake Security Company (Scam call) reported by


After they called me I got a txt message from 131005 saying: SECURITY ALERT: You have missed a call in relation to an alarm at <my mums name, and full address at her retirement village>. An Undefined Signal from Zone 18 was the final activation. ADT will action the event as per your alarm instructions. Alarm incident # 292043751. I then was worried for my mum and rang her and she didnt answer. Then I rang the 131005 number where someone answered and repeated the above message. She then wanted my security code for the alarm - fortunately I didnt know it! But she got my name and my DOB. She said that would be enough information. Long story short she said do you want us to follow it up and I said I will try ringing her again and hung up. I was a bit confused because I didnt think she had an ADT alarm... I rang her and got her and everything was fine. This worries me.

Legitimate call, this is Tyco ADT who do security and fire alarm monitoring. They were calling to check the status of their invoice but they didn't leave a message.

Asking for our accounts payable about a property, didn't know what service I was and had the name of another service couldn't tell me what client, then wanted me to find the phone number for the service they had told me they were calling. It was all a bit off and didn't feel professional, couldn't understand what she was saying and I told her to email the service and she went on to tell me about the smoke alarms and wanting accounts payable. Not the first time I've had this call.

Have requested more than 7x to terminate their service. Have blocked all of their numbers. Harassment at it's finest.

tell whichever company you were with that they need to remove you number from ADT's database personally otherwise it'll just keep happening.
