Caller says they were calling regarding a power saving device from the Vic government. The Time to Save website states "Disclaimer: Please fill in the form to book an appointment. We will contact you on details provided by you. We do not cold-call our customers. If you receive a call without your consent, it could be a SCAM call. Kindly hang up and report the caller ID to us at [email protected] for investigation." Therefore this was clearly a scam call.

Called on my personal mobile, had my name said they were form the Vic Government program and wanted to arrange an appointment to install an energy saving device. It is actually an energy monitoring device and does not save any power itself.

They're not from any Vic Government program, so that's deceptive behaviour for a start. They're private companies. You can choose whichever provider you want if you want to take advantage of the government's offer of a free energy monitoring device. These callers are giving the impression that they're from the government so they can install the device and get the rebate from the government rather than another similar company who also provides the device.

Caller ID reported it as suspected spam, guy had my sister's name and asked for her, I said this isn't her phone what do you want her for. He replied none of your business and hung up. They called back on her number but she didn't bother to answer it.

Something abount a victoria government energy monitor. (Unsolicited call) reported by


I asked more information and was looking up the scheme (which seems real and legit). While I was looking, he was trying to arrange a time for someone to come round and instal a device the following day. As I was was saying that I'd found some information the person suddenly said "thank you for wasting my time" and abruptly hung up. I feel that these may be trying to take advantage of something real in a very scammy and dodgy way. If interested (https://www.*) you can organise your own none-dodgy instalation.

received call from this number, lady said she was EMS, when asked who they were and where she obtained my name and number she claimed it was bought of a mailing list, when I ask3ed how much they paid for that list she promptly said it was none of my business and hung up. I've since blocked that number.

Foreign speaking male told me he was from EMS. When I asked "what is EMS?" he said Energy Monitoring Services Victoria and whether I had heard of the energy saving devices on offer. I said "yes and I do not think I need one." He ended the call abruptly. Extremely rude act in representing a Victorian based company - Don't you think? Watch out! Scam call I think!

They will call and say if u have received your power saving device. Just say yes and they will disconnect the call. I assume if you no they will say they can offer some sort of product to you.

Answered and was greeted by name. They said they were calling from, at which point it became garbled. When I asked where they were calling from, they mumbled a bit more then hung up. I have blocked the number, and if you ring it back, it doesn't even ring, just says it's turned off.
