I didn't answer and the short ring didn't end up in a voicemail message. I tried to call the number back but the weird ring tone just kept going. Obviously a telemarketer or call centre. There should absolutely be laws against this harassment.

Rang my work phone at 6:56pm and didn't leave a message. Got another call from a different number with the same outcome 15mins later. This type of activity needs to be officially monitored and laws need to be drafted to stop it.

Clearly an automated dial, because there was a pause, then someone said Hello, I said "Yes, Hello" and they hung up. Worried that it's in the same category as the "Can you hear me?" scam.
