Said they got my number from the National Register and they were going to get me work but did not know what State I lived in or any thing else. Told them not to ring again.

This is an employment education company trying to sell courses. I put my cv on a recruitment website so they tried to sign me up for a course. Very persistent, called several times.

This number seems to be used for a classical telemarketing, or it is a directly some general call centre. They usually work for some third company and call with offer of some goods or services for the actual company they were hired for. In this case the number is mostly reported in connection with head hunters, job seeking services. Can be a legitimate service, but a nuisance in most cases... No idea where they got my number, probably left on some net form.
