Origin calling to offer me better rates on new contract same as last year offered me a terrible contract rate & said was the best they could do so I found better deal with new provider 1 week before new provider took over they called and offered me a great deal so I switched back to origin well not switching back this time they can stick it.

Why can't we block numbers from our home phones? (Unsolicited call) reported by


I have just changed Electricity suppliers. I offered Origin Energy the opportunity to give me a good deal and they did not. Now that I have changed suppliers, I get calls from this number twice a day. I wish I could block it from my home phone. There are a couple of phone numbers that ring me incessantly. Think it is time to unplug my home phone (which Telstra insists I have in their deal).

Personal details Scam (Scam call) reported by


Received a call from a woman with foreign accent claiming to be Origin Energy. Was told she had my wife on the phone and that I needed to give my personal details in order to access the account because it is in my name. The problem is our Origin account is in my wife's name so I immediately thought something was going on. She also wanted to begin by getting my full name - ALARM BELLS. I told here to wait while I confirmed it with my wife at which point she put me on hold and had the 'official' Origin call waiting message, of which one comment was to never give out your personal details. When my wife answered she said she was not speaking to Origin and at that point the scam operator realised the scam was up and hung up on me.
