Funny how East Asian sounding voices have very anglo-saxon names. "Denis Staton" was this one. It saddens me that these a-**** keep pushing their BS scams .... but there must be people that fall for them. This one is scheduled to have his **** removed....figuratively speaking of course!

Definitely fake. I am with iinet, and when I inform them, they either hang up on me or give a poor excuse. I have been receiving calls from them about 4-5 times a day for the last 2 weeks

a woman 'youngish' called me from a "government department" to confirm that I had been registered on the 'call protect' register provided by Telstra. For administrative purposes, she wanted me to confirm the expiry date on my credit card. I told her that I did not want to share personal information over the telephone and that the 'call protect' service was not working because I was receiving many unwanted calls. She advised me that my services would be up-graded and that I would now only receive calls from my family and friends and from the Australian Government. However, the up-grade was dependent upon my sharing the expiry date on my credit card. I told her I would only share information with people whom I called and not with people who called me. She gave me the telephone number of her supervisor - 03 9021 2493

An Indian sounding male voice said my Do Not Call registration had expired and he would relodge it for me. He Knew me telstra account name (both husband & wife initials) and surname, home phone number and full street address. Said to complete registration my credit card had expired recently and needed a new expiry date... at this point I got suspicious and said I would not give him any information. He then haung up. He was ringing from 02 69976656 but gave 03 90212493 as his call centre number.
