I can't really complain, as it was just 1 missed call :-) but thanks for the very informative comments here. I seldom answer anonymous (or unknown) numbers (unless someone I know is getting careless about transmitting theirs!) but have discovered that pressing 'Answer' but staying silent will often results in disconnection, or enough info to hang up myself.

Called and said "calling from Auscover (or Ozcover)" and i replied "who is Auscover?" and they said "don't worry we are not selling anything just wanted to check if you have life/funeral insurance?" and i said "hang on, i'd like my number taken off the list please." and they hung up! Didn't even give me a dismissive "OK"!

Tracked down "Living Advantage" to a company that provides outbound telesales marketing. So it's just a telemarketing company that "Living advantage" outsources. But still, that company has the responsibility to ensure their sales staff are trained properly.

Twice "Nextgen" insurance selling (Telemarketer) reported by Adrian
Called me twice, 2015-Nov-23 and 2015-Dec-09, both times trying to sell me death insurance. Asked them the second time to stop calling me and they claim they've never called me previously. My phone & my memory says they're lying.

Young guy called me "mate" and wanted a "few minutes of my time". I just cut the call, no need to apologise for hanging up on unsolicited crap like this. Called them back on unlisted landline and got a message from Living Advantage in Melbourne telling me it's all a big "malfunction" on their phone system and they're sorry. It's a scam attempt.

This number phoned me at 02:20am and woke me up - I phoned them back this morning and a recorded message from a company called "Living Advantage' answered - after a quick google search it as an Insurance/lifestyle/safety/finance company.
