Man from Australian Cyber Security? (Service) reported by


A man with an Indian accent told me he was from Gmail and Australian Cyber Security in Sydney. He told me my IP address and email address is being used in Mountain View, California. He told me to google "my IP" and told me my IP number. The number matched the IP number that appeared as being in the USA so that made him appear genuine. He told me to press the windows button and letter r at the same time. He said a box will appear and I will then be able to block my IP address. I didn't do it because I didn't know whether to trust him. I told him I need to apply for jobs and will call him back. He then disappeared. I think he is the scammer because a message had come up telling me someone in India was using my address, or something like that. He told me to tick No, to say that wasn't me.

Scam call about my Telstra Internet (Scam call) reported by


Called me about my Telstra internet (which I'm not subscribed to) being accessed illegally by other people. I heard about this scam from a relative so I knew what it was. His script will involve asking you to install a remote desktop software for him to investigate the issue. He will blank your screen for a while to steal information and install a key-logger. Caller will ask you to login to your bank account to make sure no money is stolen. Caller is of Indian accent.
