Suspicious, unsolicited call from Bupa (Unsolicited call) reported by Angry ex-Bupa customer

Unsolicited call from an Indian guy from Melbourne number claiming Bupa. Have been getting this call everyday for a week although I told them never to call me again. This is harrasment! Indian guy: [Insert name here], I am calling from Bupa. I have to talk about "something" regarding your health insurance. Before I do that I need to verify your Date of Birth and Address. (Suspicious of another social engineering scam) Me: First tell me what that "something" is about? Indian guy: First I need your information before I can say what it is about. Me: I don't trust your unsolicited call. Since I know you already have my email address on your system, I don't feel comfortable talking to you until I get a verified email from Bupa. Indian guy: [ Do you speak hindi? ... ]. (Clear attempt to get information from me by trying to gain rapport. ) Me: No I don't. Good bye! Lesson: I may be wrong but smells like an attempt to scam people. If this is BUPA, then this is a clear harassment. If my information was stolen from BUPA system, then there is another reason to get out of Bupa because they don't take customer privacy serious. Thanks to this call, I'm going to move to another Health Insurance provider. Hope your company have massive losses this financial year.

Confirmed, its a scam! I called BUPA myself and they checked their system for any outgoing calls to my account. No record of an outgoing call in their system, except from a few months back when I actually talked to them. DO NOT GIVE THE SCAMMER YOUR DATE OF BIRTH OR MEMBERSHIP NUMBER! Best thing to do is to play along and give them fake details and see how far they take you. I'd be happy to see a YouTube video of these Bupa scammer getting owned.

I'm in another country, so answering will cost $1/minute. I have seen online here that it is possibly BUPA. But I can't imagine why they are calling me. NOT only is it unsolicited, but they are calling back EVERY SINGLE DAY for over a week now.

Hmm, even the Caller ID doesn't say some info, does someone know who is this? Have got a missed call from this one, don't wanna call back since I do not know the number... And as it seems also someone else was looking for the same number - people did someone answer it? Who is behind this number?
