Had this one before. Dials and hangs up before your phone even rings and then uses that as "proof" of attempted contact. 3 or more times and it's prank calling call your provider to have the nimber traced and they can be subject to charges, fines, disconnection and ban from have a ph service.if you speak with them and they want your details ask them to id themselves first. 1 Company name. 2 position held. 3 their name. 4 their address for service(physical address). 5 debt collectors licence nunber. Be firm you must have all the details before you can continue the call and iyidourself.do to them as they do to us no info at all until they fully id themselves or you will keep a note that they refused to id themselves and that call can go no further until they comply and you will have to end the call. complain to office of fair trading with their debt collectors licence number.very handy to read the relevant ACT and code of practice in your state they are very restricted and regulated and in most cases are breaching their licence conditions. Regardless if your debt is commercial (unregulated) or consumer (regulated by National Credit Code) their actions as a debt collector is still regulated by the relevant conditions of their licence.
