I was called and she asked if she was speaking to "----" - my full name and then asked if I had received mail at my address in Victoria. I stated I had never lived in Victoria. She said that my mobile number had been generated from their lists as a possible match for this person in Victoria. She wouldn't provide me with a name of the company she was calling from. She said it was confidential for the correct person.

If you block they invade your privacy by calling family members! Really, if people have a debt they are obviously aware of it and will sort it out when they can. Maybe people are in financial hardship and the constant calls and badgering is depressing. Not on, I call it harassment simple

They Buy Databases (Call centre) reported by


I too had a missed call from this number among the myriad of numbers these people use to "trick" me into answering. No trick needed, the app automatically declines these numbers. My number is private and only my husband, kids, school have it. However recently the doctors office put it on file. Now, coincidentally, I start getting all these calls. I've done some research and yes, companies purchase databases of information. They will use this database to cross match with their own database. Creditcorp does this. I believed cross matching (even in house) was illegal and possibly the "buying" of databases is a loophole to circumvent that. I have no debt. No credit card. No loan. So obviously they have datamatched incorrectly. Good luck getting my number removed now. Has anyone had success with this?
