Rang me when on holidays and said we won a prize from dan Murphy and he knew we were a member of dan Murphy we thought that we had entered for a prize with dan murphy so went along with it he knew all our information and tried to to get our bank details then he tried to come to our house we hung up and late that night called back we had to call back on a different phone because the phone he called us on said the number was not in service called him on the other phone and got put on hold until he hung while we were on hold we could here people talking

0488 numbers are scam callers I have 7 or 8 now blocked in my phone and they all start with 0488, they have voice recognition so as soon as you answer, it goes into a computer that this phone number has a reciepant and to keep calling, also you should never answer the phone with hello, they use ur voice, as a record to scam companys with ur personal voice print, if you pay attention, the will ask you simple yes and NO questions, all while being secretly taped..if you do not give out ur personal information this time... they will then ring you back on a different 0488 number with a different offer, trying to get that special information from you....your name and address, email and bank details, they already have ur number because u answered the phone!!! DONT NOT GIVE OUT PERSONAL INFORMATION!!AND DONT NOT ANSWER 0488 NUMBERS...you can be in another country and actually buy a australian mobile number from certain websites, it's not only mobile numbers it's local home phone numbers, 1800 number, 1300 numbers pretty much any number you want, all they do is divert it back to the original number they are calling you from, but you will never know that number because is in this instance, the number has a mask on it and that number is a mobile number starting with 0488, go onto google to search up how to be safe from telemarketers and scam callers there is heaps on there, hope this is a little bit of helpful information

Received phone call. They said I had won a coffee machine from an online competition. I said I didn’t enter and she said someone must have done so on my behalf. I said I don’t drink coffee so why would I want a coffee machine, she said use it for hot chocolate.
