Supposed call from EBay regarding a $2.99 purchase I made (Scam call) reported by MrMe
Called and asked me my name. Then said he was calling about a $2.99 purchase I made. He sounded very nervous. I asked “what is your location?” He said he was confused. I asked him again “what is your location? There was silence on the phone for 5-10 seconds before he began swearing and abruptly disconnected the call. Typically I wouldn’t answer a call coming from an overseas number - but this was a Sydney based number. FYI. Another scam caller

Scam alert (Scam call) reported by Alice
Phone call purporting to be eBay to advise a 'suspicious' amount of money had been taken for payment for an item. Asked me whether I had family in a particular geographical region who could have made a purchase and repeatedly asking whether I would like to authorise the transaction. Advised my purchase was going to arrive this evening if I did not cancel it. Caught on that I was not going give him any information and hung up.
