Claimed to be from Telstra asking to fix a technical problem on my computer.

Scam call reported by no fool

This number was provided by the scammer claiming to be from Telstra. Telstra does not contact customers about technical faults etc. Telstra waits for customers to contact it.

Scam Call (Scam call) reported by NoName

Received a call from a person calling himself "Tom Wilson" and claiming to be from Telstra (Telstra Id no. CL0045). Said that my computer was being targeted by hackers, and that Telstra Technical Department needed to fix it because it was compromising the network. He tried to gain access via remote control through a Team Viewer download) Problem is that he had all my Telstra details - account number, name, address, CLS ID number - all very convincing, except for the fact that he spoke in a strong Indian accent (Tom Wilson indeed!). He provided me with this same telephone number to verify that he was from Telstra Technical support, and the person answering the call claimed to be at Telstra. Problem was, he also sounded Indian, and the background noise was remarkably similar to the first caller.
