Called and said I had a car accident this year? I own a motorbike and have had nothing happen this year. Passive agesssive Indian guy, clearly in a call centre. Fairly certain it's a scam.

Accident Service Centre scam (Scam call) reported by


2 calls in 1 quick succession from Indian/Paki accented woman and man representing "Accident Help Line". During the calls I noted a short delay on the line between question and response. Callers asked about me or someone in my household having had an accident in the last 18 months. Callers did not get far enough into their spiel to get personal details or offer any "service". When asked how they obtained my silent number they said it was given them by their "Accident Service Dept". I said what they were doing was illegal (even if it wasn't a scam - eg. under the Personal Injuries Proceedings Act 2002 it is illegal for firms in Queensland to tout or "cold call" motorists involved in motor vehicle accidents and encourage claims). In each call I told them to take my number off their call list and the call was terminated. I called the number back and got a recorded message from my telco saying the number was disconnected. I reported the incidents to Scamwatch.

Heavily accented (indian/Paki) woman on first call to say our number was one listed as having a car accident in the last 12 months. I asked why she was asking and she said well was there an accident and I replied it was none of her business and hung up. 15 minutes later an (indian/Paki) man called and asked if we had been involved in an accident in the last 2 years. I told him it was the 2nd call this morning and to take me off their list. he said thank you and we hung up.

Indian/Paki man accused me of placing recent car accident claim. (Scam call) reported by


Indian/Paki man Falsely accused me of recently placing a claim for a car accident that I apparently had within the last 12 months, and apparently I was the driver. I made him repeat everything he'd just said, to confirm I heard him correctly, and then I slammed him with the Fact that I'm wheelchair bound and housebound for almost 9 years now, so there's NO WAY I would have put a claim in. I told him I was fed up with their continued fraudulent calls so after their last one, I notified the police, and the international law enforcement agencies who have placed a trace on all calls. The police will be there any minute now to arrest him, and everybody there who are involved in this disgusting scam, as it's a criminal offense, and I definitely won't be visiting him in prison. The call ended.

1. The phone rang. When I said "hello" A female asked who I was. I asked who she was instead. I asked who she wanted to speak with since she was the one who called. She said she didn't. I then hung up. 2. My phone rang again immediately after the first call. A male voice replied to my hello. I hung up again.

Calling regarding a car accident in the last 18 months (Scam call) reported by


I get multiple calls from this number some days. Sometimes they hang up straight away. Other times they ask to speak to the person who was involved in the car accident in the last 18 months (They don't ask if there has been one, they act as if they know already). Most recently I asked to speak to the manager. The person on the phone said that he was the manager. I told him to take us off the call list. 2 hours later I get another call (hang up straight away)

Rang asking if anyone had an accident in the last two years. When I asked what it was regarding or who they needed to speak to they asked me to tell them the details of the incident and my information. After persisting and asking what this was about they hung up. Then proceeded to call every phone line within our business.
