Threatening call re ATO (Unsolicited call) reported by Maduzie
Got a call from 02 8073 0594 which went to answering machine. There is a legal case file against your name at the Australian Judiciral court. This is a serious matter and I want you or your lawyer to call me on 02 8073 0594. Kindly do not disregard this call. Honestly, im bit freaked out about the threat however I know for fact if there was a case filed we would have received something in writing by now from ATO. We have accountants and they would have been contacted as well.

Msg left on answering machine supposedly from the federal judiciary stating I had committed tax fraud & to ring this number immediately. They also gave me the number 02 8073 4471. The message was aggressive & threatening. I returned the call & the male with a heavy accent was also aggressive in his manner. He gave me a case number & began to talk as though it was some kind of conspiracy. He called me Mrs Jackson (not my name) & when I asked what department of the ATO he was calling from he hung up in my ear. The experience has left me shaken.

Total Scam (Scam call) reported by Dont give them any details
Msg left on answering machine from J. F., Chief Officer from Commonwealth Courthouse, threatening legal action for tax evasion. Left phone number 0280734428 to call urgently. When rang back, male claimed we owed $50,000 for tax evasion and were up on 3 charges of Fraud and had court tomorrow. We were told not to ring anyone or tell anyone about this and to immediately pay $7000 via EFT. He wanted our bank details. Threatened to bug our phones to ensure we didnt ring anyone about this and two men were going to knock on the front door tomorrow. Very threatening and intimidating.

Like the others that have commented, a msg was left on answering machine with a reference number, saying there was a law suit for tax evasion. The caller was foreign and did not address the name for whom the offender even was, just a reference number. I googled the number and seen all the posts relating this number to a scam, then called from a blocked number to be sure. A foreign person answered the Sydney number I called claiming they were from the tax department, then the audit tax department. They kept asking for my details, I didn't tell them any, but I asked where he was located... He said Canberra!!! I told him it was a scam and we disconnected. There were phones ringing in the background and he could not speak English very well and did not at all sound confident in saying he was from - his words - the Australian tax audit department. Total Scam!!!!

Same thing here. Got a call from an Indian sounding fellow telling me to ring regarding either tax evasion or fraud - idiot doesn't even know what he was calling about. Left the same number as above, I tried to call back and abuse him but was unable to get through.

Had a message on my answering machine asking me or my lawyer to call then urgently to resolve this case. They even quoted a case number. Caller had an Indian accent. They did not introduce themselves or say what company they were calling on behalf of. I won't be calling them back as I can see this is a scam from reading your website. Much appreciated!

I had a missed call from this number on my mobile but no message left. Also similar number called me recently, probably the same marketing company? don't wanna call back since I do not know the number - it could be just a robocaller testing if my number is responding, don't want to let them know my line is active... People please did someone answer it? Who is behind this number?

I had a message on my answering machine from this number telling me I had committed Tax fraud somehow I don't think so!!Told me to call back urgently which I did not as I know I have done nothing fraudulent.
