Optus scam call. Wanted my email, bank details and signature. (Scam call) reported by


Scam call from Optus. He was trying to up my plan and saying he can get me the newest phone told him I already have IPhone X and he kept persisting saying better phones on the market and if I change my plan I will get more data and more calls and texts. Told him I don’t use much data and he kept persisting after I said no thank you I am not interested he continued to say but why it’s a much better deal for you.

BIG SCAM!! This number called my phone many times and when I finally answered a man with an Indian accent told me he was from Optus and told me my plan I was on and that I could upgrade to get more data/ minutes etc. He told me MY full name, date of birth and address. It was dodgy from the start so I played along and said I would upgrade. He then went on and told me he would email me a confirmation email and I would have to click on the link to upload my drivers license and Medicare card for a credit check. He said I should receive it in 5 mins and he would call me back. When he called me back he advised me they had lost my email address and I had to give it to him again- I did not and told him I would call him back. I then called the real Optus sales number and asked the gentleman I spoke to if there were any notes I had been called by anyone at Optus and he said NO! BIG SCAM!! the new plan, however, was real so I ended up upgrading with the real Optus THANKS FOR THE INFO ****! ???? The scammers (Nick and his ‘supervisor’ Eddie) then called me back the next day and I told them I called Optus and upgraded already. I will be reporting this to Optus NOW

A man with a middle eastern accident called my mobile number and told me exactly what my phone plan was which was pretty freaky. He later offered be a better data plan and such but luckily i looked up the number and realised that it was just a scam :)

I missed about 4 calls over the past 2-3 weeks from this number so decided to call it the person recon that its optus regarding me wanting more data more calls ect but i have no proplem with my plan now and told him no i dont and take me of his list he had an acsent and his voice sounded bord and he wanted my detail so no no no scam big time
