I am getting calls virtually everyday from this number! Initially I never answered the call as I didn't recognise the number and I thought that if it was an important call then they would leave a message. They never did. I now believe this to be one of those SCAM (robo)calls that want you to call them back so that they can charge you premium rates (like for 1900 numbers) by the minute while they keep you on hold. Fortunately I use the Truecaller App and have now blocked this number so it gets routed straight to the SPAM box and I never hear the call come in!

Call centre for medical, finance insurance. (Telemarketer) reported by Honey
Call centre of some sort. Have rung off 3 different numbers. Even asking few times to stop ringing. They keep ring and off different numbers. They ring at least twice a day for a week now. 3 times in an hour one day. You block them, they ring off another number.

This number must be part of the range of numbers dedicated to the same call centre - I can see more similar numbers of the same range 283173xxx reported here already, so far as I can see on internet with Indian call centre operating for insurance marketing and financial services mostly - accident chasers, personal injury, insurance of all kind. People did they call you with something new, new scope?
