Voice message claimed I was being audited, there had been a warrant issued and talk to my Lawyer. It was not referred to an individual person in the household, they didn't leave their name or organisation they worked for. Scam Scam Scam.....

Threats about an audit being taken place. Said i needed a lawyer. Told me to ring a number back. Obviously a scam because the ATO uses official letters and email and MYGOV for all contact.

Call from private number left message on voicemail. Didn't give their name or what organisation they were from. Claimed an audit had found my account was delinquent and that unless I called the number 02 8317 3357, a warrant for my address would be issued due to tax avoidance. An obvious scam.

I work in an accounting firm and a client of ours was left a voicemail and asked to call this number. They purported to be from the ATO and left a message warning about tax evasion. It is a scam. Please do not call them back.

We had a call from this number, Heard nothing (because we have overseas calls blocked) It's an Australian number but the people are in india. We rang the number back and hubby hurled abuse at them.

Block it. Pure scam, "This call is from the Australian Taxation Office..." No, it isn't. People can be a robocaller or a live person behind it, this kind of scam mostly originates from USA, where this type of scam (someone calling on behalf of IRS - Internal Revenue Service, similar to ATO - Australian Taxation Office, https://www.ato.gov.au/) is very common. Block it, report it - police department is already checking this activity. Also, all ATO numbers begin with 13.
