Offered discount for living in NSW and paying on time. Had my name and address (although couldn't pronounce either). Then started fishing for other identifying information such as drivers licence number and date of birth. Avoided telling me where she was calling from and got agitated and eventually hung up when I suggested just applying the discount since I didn't have to do anything, or sending me the offer in writing to the address she already had...

Call initially seemed innocent enough but then got more and more suspicious as I kept being pressed for more and more personal information. If this was legitimately from an electricity company, they would already know these details. Advised the person calling to send it in a letter.

They rang saying I would get a discount for my electricity bill for paying on time but then I got suspicious when they wanted to confirm my postcode, stating one from where I lived over 6 months ago...and didn't pay for electricity. The man then was asking me to confirm my address, to which I asked "How would you know if I pay on time but not my address? The electricity company would have my address." He got a bit defensive and then in the end I said I wasn't interested. Thankfully, he didn't try to keep me on the phone or argue with me as others have previously.
