Same thing - I got a message, something very vague, in a string american accent - and something about being in trouble with the authourities, and needing to contact my lawyer, and that I will be arrested, if I don't call "This Number" immediately, or be arrested!! Sounded like a scam to me - so I ignored it. Was called again this morning, Friday, 30-9-2016, at about 8am. I called the number back, using my call-out only voip number, with called ID Blocking activated (really useful to avoid telemarketers...), and someone answered, and said they were "The Office" , and I said "Who??", and they said that they were the "Australian Taxation Office", and I hung up. Something smelled bad here!! I got online, on the ATO website, and called them, at their listed number, and there was a message, that they were CLOSED, as it is an Australian Public Holiday, and to call back, during normal business hours!! I called THIS number again, and HE insisted, in a really STRONG Indian, or Pakistani accent, and really BAD English, that HE was the FRAUD Investigation Department, of the Australian Taxation Office!! I then said, that that was awfully strange - as they are all off today, because it is a public holiday!! He said someting about being i New South Wales, and t wasn't a holiday there - and I said bu*it!! He put me on hold, and started to talk to someone else, in an obviouslt foreign language (probably Indian), and there were lots of others talking in the background - sounded like about 50 or more people - and then he hung up!! GOTCHA!! I then looked up, and called the FEDERAL POLICE, and spoke to a nice lady there, and she seemed to know about this scam already!! I gave HER the number anyway, and told her to have a great day, anyway!! We NEED a fast, and instant way, for the Federal Police, to be able to KILL these phone numbers - BOTH WAYS - and intercept all their outgoing calls, and TRAP THEM, into exposing themselves, in some way, that they can arrest th

got a message from what appears to be a recorded message in heavy american accent saying that some proceedings being initiated with our state or territory authorities (something very unclear) and that local police department coming to arrest us if we do not call them back on this number - SCAM
