Claimed to be from Dept Human Services - Centrelink (Scam call) reported by Louella
Automated sounding call from Withheld number by female with Australian accent stating that they had been trying to contact me re pension changes. They told me to ring Centrelink head office on 02 8607 5076. I was puzzled because I do not receive a pension but rang out of curiosity. A female with an Indian accent answered on a very crackly line. I told her I don't receive a pension and most of what she said except "don't worry about it" was lost because of the bad line. When I asked her to repeat it she hung up on me.

Similar claim. I had to call the number for back payments. . Unfortunately I thought it was concerning my Fathers passing and so rang the number but got suspious with the American accent used for the recorded hold the line message.

These scammers are now claiming to be from Centrelink debt recovery section and that you own them a lot of money , variation on the ATO tax scam. If you get one of these calls , ignore it and confirm with Centrelink about your status.
