While NSW Rural Fire Services staff serve the community well, the constant phone call for fund collection is becoming a pain on the backside. There is only so much people can give in a year. The telephone number 02 8823 3018 belongs to a company called Call Centres Australia [Address: 241 Commonwealth St, Surry Hills NSW 2010; Phone:1800 377 000] which is contracted by NSW RFSA to undertake fund collection drive for the Association. This activity has no mandated support from the NSW Fire Services which is a State government organisation. Contact Centres Australia "hassles" people who are on their database for donations. After getting bugged for over a year, I contacted Contact Centres Australia and instructed them to take my number off their database. Also, informed the staff that should I get another call from them on behalf of RFSA or any other body, I would in a flash lodge an official complaint to the Telecommunication Industry Ombudsman [Tel: 1800 062 058]. Hope this helps other who are in similar predicament.
