Two recorded messages were left saying we had been selected for a tax audit because of tax avoidance. Asked to phone this number or to contact our solicitor to phone. A foreign voice that you could hardly understand. The tax office would make contact through your accountant or tax agent so obviously a scam.

Called once and left voicemail message about tax owing and to contact lawyers. Said mail sent to registered address was unsigned and unsent. Called again and husband answered was the same recorded message.

I just checked my answering machine and over the course of the day, had 3 lengthy messages saying that Im being charged with tax evasion, very strong accent and hard to understand at times. I call this as a scam call or i would've received the mentioned letters which i havent got as yet

Phone message, business like male voice purporting to be from tax office threatening legal action because I had supposedly not responded to registered mail sent to my registered address that was undelivered and unsigned. I was advised to ring 02 9098 4481, or contact my lawyer. I am aged with no taxable income, so suspect it to be a scam. I find this behaviour disturbing and mischievous.

Found the voice msg on my phone claiming to be from the ATO. Called a few times, either busy or no one answering. Then found the number on this site. Glad it was just a scam/spam and not the real ATO :)
