“Windows Consumer care” (Scam call) reported by Mike

Woman called one week ago on the Tuesday (23/8) asking to speak to the owner of the house stating that she was through “Windows Consumer care” and I had a serious problem with my computer. As I am aware of this scam I nicely told her I was not interested in anything she was selling and to have a nice day! Next day my husband received a call from Mike stating he was from “Windows Consumer care” we had a serious problem with our computer. My husband planned to have a bit of fun this time and said “but sir I don’t run Windows (we do) we have an Apple” Mike kindly told my husband that, that didn’t matter! (REALLY) Mike then asked my husband if the computer was turned on, husband stated it wasn’t but he would go turn it on now… put the phone down then came back 10mins later and said “yes sir your right it is slow!!” .. This went on for a little while before my husband just put the phone down and walked away. Next day I received the call from Mike, at this point I’ve had enough and when he did his spill about being from Windows… I said “but we don’t run Windows which you know because you spoke with my husband yesterday and I spoke with a lady the day before.. We are not interested please go away!” I hang up and he called back.. Stating this time that he was Mike from “Mac Consumer Care” Me: “Really that’s convenient for you.. WE ARE STILL NOT interested” and hang up. I then received two prank called from this number hanging up on me just as I answered..(mature) Get a call today.. From Mike from “Windows Consumer care” who wants to let me know we have a serious problem with our computer… I didn’t say anything just hanged up on him.. he called back. Mike: “why did you hang up on me?” Me: “Because Mike I have had enough... you have already called me six times, we are not interested in what your selling.. please go away!” – hung up…. He called back!! Mike: “Why the f* you hung up on me?” Me: “What?? how dare you swear at me.. do not call me again!” – hung up….

Got a recorded message claiming to be from "Jack" from the ATO today saying I needed to call back as there was pending legal action against my name (with no mention of what my name actually is). My coworker got the same call on her mobile earlier today. Don't waste your time calling back.

I received a recorded message today (Wednesday, 3rd Feb 2016) claiming to be the ATO and requesting that i urgently call them back. I called back and this man answered and said that a subpoena was in the mail as he claimed that i was committing tax fraud. I stopped him immediately and said that i believe this to be a fraudulent call. He said for me to hang up if i believed this to be true. So i hung up. I called back several times and it was busy. I called back a final time and the man had changed his name from John Brooks to Michael Johnson. *..This is definitely a scam as the man was laughing..*. I said i would report him to the police and he said to "do it..no one has caught me yet". I am reporting this number to the police and advising my company security that this is a scam number. He wanted me to pay AUD $7,900. Be careful people!!

I received a recorded call message claiming to be from the Australia Tax Office (ATO) on this number (02)90984490 on Tues 26th Jan 2016 (Australia Day) and that I need to contact this number urgently. When I did call I was told that court papers were to be submitted this week for my arrest unless I paid owing debts to the ATO
