**Edit: NOT SPAM. It's definitely Optus. Can't change review to "positive". I needed a technician to call me regarding issues with my phone connection and this was the number they called from. *Original report: From other reports here it seems this is either an Optus sales telemarketer or a scam caller. No caller ID, no message left. I've had multiple calls from this number over several months. If it was important to reach me surely they should leave a voicemail message?

Told me it was Optus with a special offer (Telemarketer) reported by


Apparently this was Optus with a special deal - but proceeded to ask me for my postcode. I presumed they should know my postcode and thus expected this was actually a scam as my number may have been leaked in the Optus leak and they were fishing for more details. I said I think you’re a scam and hung up. Sadly for Optus they will now not be able to have any genuine success with telemarketing as anyone who calls now and asks me for any personal details I assume is trying to commit fraud.

Caller: Optus re cyber attack I told the caller that Optus should have it's name appearing. Expecting customers such as myself who have had their personal data stolen to be answering unknown calls is silly.

Agreed. As we aren’t really being protected in most states, and if we are, it’s the bare minimum. Victoria and The ACT won’t let people change certain details. And say it’s for extra protection, but the system has not been put in place for that protection yet. So everyone’s just left hung out to dry. Plus the credit monitoring company that they’ve so generously offered us 12 month subscriptions to: (1) only cover a third of the major creditors in Australia and zero of the smaller ones like money wizard, Afterpay, Humm, ZipPay etc and (2) Had their own Data Breech in the last 4 years. And Finally (3) Why would we give our updated identification to yet another online company, because if our Optus ID is a little outdated from being longtime customers, then the hackers, or ANY criminal hackers would now know exactly where to go and find our updated identification details at the place that they’ve already hacked previously. I called Optus and I was asked 2 identification questions plus my postcode. The hackers already have this info. I asked if there was a question that she could ask that the hackers would not know, and she told me that our accounts are now safe and not to worry, but she couldn’t tell me how they are safe. Such a joke
