This number rang my 77yr old grandma saying he was from the Taxation office and she had been avoiding taxes. Said his name was Kenneth Matthews. Do not call back just ignore it even when he says "do not ignore this call as it is a serious matter" its a scam.

A man called and very aggressively said he was from the police for the taxation office and that i had been evading tax. He said i must call a number immediately and speak to someone. The number was Melbourne and i live in NSW. We called his number back and he would not give his name.

Man said he was tax office and that they'd sent me letters out and that I'd sent them back not opened or signed tax forms from 2012 till 2015.

Comes from Victoria, Tasmania, this number seems to be used for a classical telemarketing, or it is a directly some general call centre. They usually work for some third company and call with offer of some goods or services for the actual company they were hired for. In this case the number is mostly reported in connection with Telstra (check them at https://www.telstra.com.au ) - probably some call centre working for them...
