SCAM I have just checked my landline which we rarely use, and yes there was a very unclear message left stating the same; a bench warrant was being served on my name address and phone and that my calls were being monitored for a debt to ATO, I owe nothing as I am a stay at home mum and do not work. I tried calling the number but comes up "cannot connect you at this time" I was getting quite distressed until I found this site, bastards

Automated recorded message advising, as others, I have a warrant out for my address and my phone and address will be monitored until the outstanding ATO tax debt is paid. I have no tax debt. Bastards. Don't like the idea of someone monitoring my phone/address though so will contact police.

This number says I have a warrant out for my arrest due to tax evasion. Total scam and very dangerous. Delete it and don't be concerned. It is definitely not the taxation office!

Have had this recorded message left on my answering machine twice today. Apparently there is a warrant out for my arrest due to tax avoidance and I, or my lawyer, should phone this number in order to pay my debt. Might be a bit more believable if you could actually properly understand what the heavily accented man on the recording is saying. So sick of scam artists.

I just got the same message twice in my machine one they didn't mention their name or mine two my home phone has never been used and no one knows my number three the message was not very clear definitely a scam oh and its an 03 area code im 07 ahaha

Block it. Pure scam, "This call is from the Australian Taxation Office..." No, it isn't. People can be a robocaller or a live person behind it, this kind of scam mostly originates from USA, where this type of scam (someone calling on behalf of IRS - Internal Revenue Service, similar to ATO - Australian Taxation Office, https://www.ato.gov.au/) is very common. Block it, report it - police department is already checking this activity. Also, all ATO numbers begin with 13.

They just left a message saying a warrant for my arrest has been issued for not paying my tax debt...hard to get a debt when I have been injured and not working. I must contact my lawyer or ring the number they rang from. Pommy accent
