ATO arrest scam call (Scam call) reported by


I received a call from 0390057499 which went to my voicemail. When I listened to the message that was left it stated the following in a computer-generated voice: "As there is a legal case going to be filed against your name including a warrant for your arrest. Now before the case is sent for execution and you received the legal course of notification. You can call the Taxation Office on 0390057499. The number again 0390057499. Don't ignore." I tried to call the number back and it constantly had an engaged tone. I searched the number and the carrier is a company called Symbio Networks. I contacted them on 1300789653 and spoke to technical support to advise them that serious scam calls are coming from the phone number 0390057499. They had advised me that they would investigate the phone number and attempt to stop the scam phone calls. I have also reported the scam phone call to Scam Watch at www.scamwatch.gov.au/report-a-scam. I would suggest that anyone else that receives this scam phone call should report it through the same avenues.

This is a robo call from scammers saying it's the Australian Federal Police with a warrant for your arrest in regards to taxes. They give a number to ring, I wish I'd written it down now. Complete scam, ignore.
